Since Stockholm Magnetik’s return to Counter-Strike: Source after a self imposed holiday we’ve heard little from the team. Behind closed doors the team has been hard at work practising and working on their game, we spoke to Daniel "giftig" Ivarsson to find out exactly what’s going on with the Counter-Strike: Source squad.

At the end of this month the Championship Gaming Series will air the World Finals to even more people around the globe as it hits the popular channel Eurosport 2 for four days of fraggin' action. Sadly, Stockholm Magnetik are not featured in the air time, but you are still able to take a glance at what its like for those whom have yet to experience true gaming in its biggest form.

The show kicks off on Tuesday 30th of September at 20:30 CET where the Berlin Allianz goes up against the Sydney Underground in the Quarter finals of the 2008 season. From there the show is being shown on Wednesday the 1st of October, Thursday 2nd of October and Saturday the 4th of October. More information can be found on TheCGS.com.

 

IstvaN's double page spread

A few days ago the FIFA 08 player of the Stockholm Magnetik franchise; Jonas Salomonsen more commonly known as IstvaN was featured in one of Denmarks most well known newspapers, read by hundreds of thousands every week. Sadly this article is only available in Danish, but for those who can understand, its a recommended viewing. The article talks about Jonas and his career, for those whom in his country may not be so familuar with his occupation, though Jonas is no stranger to the Danish spot light as he featured on television in the country before due to his FIFA talent.

In just a few days, Jonas will be representing both Denmark and Stockholm Magnetik in the World Cyber Games 2008 Danish pre-qualifier, which is scheduled to start next week. ESEA night the aftermath

As we announced a few days ago the Counter-Strike: Source team would be taking part in an event with ESEA this evening, where you would get the chance to play against them for over two hours of fragging action. Along with this, we kindly donated a signed T-Shirt to one random member of the ESEA event, along with a special additional prize on top of this. Just after the event had finished, the winner was announced as; Joey "HotWings" Tsui, from the United Kingdom! He will also be getting a lesson from 3 players of his choice being; Fredrik "Sparkle" Jurek, Erik "HaZ" Holm and Markus "ferus" Stenmark.

As promised, we also have uploaded some of the demos from this evening, which you are able to download right now! We will be uploading more from the players in due course, along with some pro tips to share with you so stay tuned. So what are you waiting for? Magnetik on ESEA raffle

This coming Thursday, the Counter-Strike: Source team will be making an appearance on the ever popular ESEA servers, taking part in a two hour session of play with the pros. For those who are not aware of what ESEA is, it guarentees you the opportunity to play against the players whom who they say they are. Meaning if Sparkle is on the server then it really is him! Along with this, all of the servers are protected with an anti-cheat client, so it stops any unfair advantages taking place.

The event will be taking place, this coming Thursday the 11th of September between 19:00 - 21:00 CET. Though, with this event, we have kindly donated a prize to a random member whom plays against the team on the servers, where you could win a Stockholm Magnetik T-Shirt signed by the General Manager and many of the players from the Season 1 and 2 roster. You can find out some more information regarding ESEA on their website, otherwise we look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

SkatanMilla - "DoA is dying"

The off season now begins in the Championship Gaming Series, and already speculation has began about which games should get the chop. One which is cropping up quite a few times is fighting game of Dead or Alive 4 which has already survived two complete seasons, but can it survive another?

We catch up with the newest Swedish recruit to the Stockholm Magnetik Dead or Alive 4 team Niklas "SkatanMilla" Lagerborg whom shares his opinion on this strong subject going through the community at the moment. Along with this, we introduce him to you for those who may not of heard of Niklas as of yet, prior to the Championship Gaming Series. SkatanMilla hit the gaming community big time last year as he finished an impressive 2nd place in the World Cyber Games finals held in Seattle last October.

At this event he managed to take down; Ryan "Offbeat Ninja" Ward whom was unstopable last Season. But sadly fell to Blackmamba in the finals, losing a straight 2-0.
